Ray presented a late night show on Radio Rag in the early 1980s.

Ray organised the Radio Rag OB van in 1982. Radio Rag broadcast live from locations around the Bogle Stroll sponsored walk.

The OB van had a range of about 25 miles around Manchester.

I was the Roving Reporter. I remember interviewing walkers and first aid volunteers at a checkpoint near Wigan at 0300.

The OB van was cunningly disguised as a transit van with a sofa in the back.

Ray became a local radio OB engineer for a well known Broadcasting Corporation.
