Carlton TV toured 8 schools in Leicester and Birmingham during March 2002.

This was a "careers roadshow" for students who might not otherwise consider a career in the media industry.

Students produced their own live edition of "Central News" shown on monitors in the school hall.

Everyone had a chance to try at least one job, including reporter, camera operator, director, newsreader and weather presenter.

Students also attended sessions run by presenters from Galaxy radio, and reporters from the Leicester Mercury newspaper and Birmingham Evening Mail newspaper.
